Haha, when I first looked up the Daleks before watching the show, I had no clue how anyone could take them seriously.

great. One of the top videos is a BBC reporter trying to make him speak English and him refusing. :)
To be honest, I have little sympathy for native English speakers being annoyed with bad English simply because so many (in the United States at least) seem to think that everyone should speak English perfectly and with an American accent and it's some failing on their part if they don't. It's called diversity--deal with it and try learning a second language yourself.
Sorry, that's a bit of a personal peeve and an exaggeration. I guess my takeaway is that bad language skills can be fun and embarrassing but should never be a point of contention and in ordinary situations (politicians don't count!), shouldn't be used to make people feel bad
Also, I wonder what it'd be like if we still used French as the international standard. :)
